The inaugural Barnes Pickleball Open is set to take place from February 20-23, 2025 at the iconic Barnes Tennis Center, bringing together over 1,500 players of all skill levels over the course of four days.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Main Court Pickleball App, is set to be the largest pickleball tournament ever in San Diego, and will combine competitive play, live entertainment, and community spirit. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Youth Tennis San Diego, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young athletes through programs that build confidence, resilience, and opportunities on and off the court.
With competitive divisions for all ages and skill levels, celebrity and influencer matches, a Beat the Pro Challenge, and high-stakes MoneyBall tournaments, the Barnes Pickleball Open offers something for everyone.

Yes, players can sign up without partners, but it is strongly recommended that you do have a partner as we cannot guarantee one. If we cannot find you a partner, we reserve the right to cancel your registration and provide a refund at any time.
The tournament will feature a round-robin format, with players competing in a minimum of 5–7 games per division, followed by playoffs for the top teams.
The tournament will follow USAPA 2025 pickleball rules, allowing only USAPA-approved paddles. Net serves are in continuous play.
Each division has specific age requirements. All players on a team must meet the minimum age for their division. Teams with players below the required age will not be eligible to register.
The age data provided in your Main Court account will be used to verify eligibility. Please ensure your date of birth is correct before registering.
Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email, and your team will be added to the Teams list in Main Court. We encourage players to download the Main Court app to ensure seamless communication with the organizer, although web users will still receive updates.

Registration closes on March 6th, 2025, ensuring all players are prepared for the event.Players can cancel their spot by March 6th, 2025. Upon cancellation, they will receive a refund of their registration fee, including the Main Court processing fee, within 5–10 days. Please note that Stripe payment processing fees are non-refundable.
