What is the Skill Level and can I change my Main Court Skill Rating?

Main Court’s Skill Rating is a dynamic and transparent measure of a player’s pickleball proficiency. We maintain accuracy and fairness using gameplay and opponent feedback and ratings.

When joining Main Court, new members can self-rate their pickleball proficiency from 1.0 to 5.0. This initial rating serves as a starting point. After every match, players can suggest updated opponent ratings. Suggested opponent ratings are optional and carried out once every 30 days when playing the same opponents.

Confidentiality and respect are priorities in Skill Rating. Players receive notifications about skill level changes; the feedback is anonymous, which helps keep our community respectful.

The Skill Level feature focuses on personal improvement and accurately assesses a player’s standing. Those who prefer not to engage with this feature can skip it. The primary goal is to foster a supportive and collaborative pickleball community where players can thrive and enjoy well-matched and competitive games.

Main Court’s Skill Level feature brings clarity, fairness, and a sense of progression to pickleball. Ratings promote personal growth, motivate players to improve their skills, and ensure engaging and enjoyable matches through fair competition. We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where all players, regardless of skill level, thrive and contribute to our vibrant pickleball community.
